PLOT is a play development workshop, a wing of Heller Theatre Company’s commitment to developing, promoting, and producing new work for the stage, with special emphasis on inclusion across the human spectrum of identities.
PLOT meets every other Sunday and its mission is to help local writers develop a clear(er) process for their voices.
PLOT is an ongoing conversation about the art and the craft of playwriting.
PLOT members are crafting active plays that are not sunk in exposition and have dynamic characters and plots.
Some of the work is generated through prompts taken from two books by Michael Wright: Playwriting in Process and Sensory Writing for Stage and Screen. Other workshops have focused on the crafting of monologues, writing for radio, exploring nonverbal playwriting, a workshop on Zoom Performance by professional actor Brian Shoop and other explorations.
